Technical Services and Analytics

Implementing technical services and able to provide a range of analytical services to airspace users, airports and ANSPs including procedure design, airspace trials and airport and runway capacity modelling

Instrument Flight Procedure Design and Validation

Our team brings an advanced skillset and many years of practical experience in the maintenance, improvement and modernisation of terminal airspace, aircraft arrival and departure procedures.

Through our CAA approved company, IFP Design Ltd, we review, maintain and safeguard existing IFPs and design new procedures to a Performance Based Navigation (PBN) specification. PBN delivers safety, capacity, flight efficiency and environmental benefits. Using innovative techniques we find methods of mitigating the sometimes negative effects of noise concentration.

We perform ground and/or flight validation of new or revised instrument flight procedures to ensure the procedure is operationally acceptable for safety, flyability and design accuracy.

Aerodrome and Instrument Flight Procedure Safeguarding

National and International rules mandate that aerodromes are proactively safeguarded against all obstacle surfaces.

We safeguard Obstacle Limitation Surfaces and Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) against proposed developments, constructions or planned temporary obstacles.

For airports with large volumes of planning and crane applications, we create bespoke coloured square maps as well as software that can significantly reduce the number of assessments that need to be passed to our UK Approved IFP designers for further assessment.

Airport and Runway Capacity

Maximising the efficiency of airfields, terminals, runways and the air transport network is a top priority for the aviation sector to minimise costs and enable sustainable growth.

Trax are working at the forefront of internationally recognised initiatives to connect airports with the air transport network, focusing on the deployment of new systems, tools and operating procedures to optimise the flow of traffic on the ground and in the air via Airport Collaborative Decision Making (ACDM), surveillance systems for enhanced situational awareness and Departure Planning Information (DPI) messaging solutions.

Our offerings include:
• Airfield, Terminal and Runway Performance Reviews
• Airport Integration and Throughput Business Case Development
• Concept of Operation Development
• System Requirements Gathering and Documenting
• Process Redesign
• Technical Support to System Implementation

Big Data Analytics and Reporting

Regardless of subject, complexity and volume, our professionals will gather, process, summarise and draw informative conclusions from your data.

Trax consultants have extensive experience in processing and compiling reports on various data. Descriptive, inferential statistics and other analyses will be summarised and explained in clear professional reports. The output style can cater for your audience needs: simple to understand insights for the general public or highly technical summaries for professionals in your industry can be delivered.

We are able to support your business by creating analytical tools, that will automate data processing and insights illustrations for the future.

Electronic Conspicuity and Surveillance

The government’s strategy recognises electronic conspicuity deployment to be a key foundation in the future airspace system for both manned and unmanned operators, inside and outside controlled airspace.

Trax have implemented innovative and low-cost surveillance solutions which exploit EC transmissions and have shaped regulatory policy. Our resources are also standing members of the Electronic Conspicuity Control Board that coordinates and oversees the implementation of the programme across the CAA.

We create use cases and scenarios to drive regulatory activities, solution options and understand the cost-benefit analysis towards a balanced approach for the different stakeholder types.
